About Me
Welcome! My name is Jerry DeRosia and I have been teaching technology topics for over 16 years. Technology has driven my work practices and life for decades . I worked for a large Sheriff’s Office in the Midwest for 36 years, 26 of those as an investigator and 15 years in a Computer Crimes Unit as a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (IACIS), Investigator and Commander.
I learned throughout my career you have to have passion in what you do. My passion is teaching and providing important information that keeps you and the people in your life safe. Keeping children safe was first and foremost throughout my career, and still is.
Throughout my career I embraced technology where it made my job easier and could benefit others. I used it while I was working within a Federal Taskforce with the F.B.I. and certainly used it everyday, as an investigator and Certified Forensic Computer Examiner. I train others in the use of software, investigations, and techniques to use the internet as an open source of information.
A large part of my career was focused on High Technology Crime and investigating Child Sexually Abusive Activity and Child Sexually Abusive Material (Child Pornography). I believe the most heinous of crimes is to steal the innocence of a child and prey on them. I dedicated a large part of my life to its investigation and I was lucky to work with a team, of some of the most talented and dedicated people, who also held the same beliefs.
